How It Works
The process, step by step
Coconut shell activated carbon is the beverage industry standard — its tight micropore structure removes colour and odour compounds without stripping the flavour precursors that define the product. Applications range from spirit decolorisation to liquid sugar purification.
01
Carbon dosing
Carbon is dosed into the liquid stream u2014 typically in a mixing tank or inline dosing system.
02
Contact & adsorption
Colour bodies and off-flavour compounds adsorb onto carbon surface. Contact time is controlled to preserve flavour.
03
Filtration & recovery
Spent carbon is filtered from the treated liquid. Product meets colour specification (ICUMSA or Hazen units).
